Sorry, Not Sorry

By roobixops

This morning I read a humorous article. Matt Pritchard of British prank show “Dirty Sanchez” mixed Xanax and a bar-worth of alcohol on a recent flight. What next? The man stripped off, ran wildly about the plane, climbed up on the seats – then urinated all over Dolph Lundgren of Rocky IV fame.
At first I cringe-laughed “boys will be boys”.

Then it struck me. When did it become acceptable to behave like a whacked out twat? This guy got off with a cheap Instagram apology.
We’ve become so dependent on drugs to make us feel things — happy, relaxed, energetic, calm, erect, sleepy, turned on, entertained — that inevitable behavioural fallout has become acceptable. It is one of the trademarks of a celebrity legacy. I’m sure between you and I, we could name tens of people fallen prey to the snorted, swallowed, injected, smoked siren.
The saddest bit? Often this runaway train ends in tragedy.
But I guess as Charlie Sheen famously stated —
“Dying’s for amateurs”.
